Music is like a vast ocean and to ask someone to pick only 5 favourite songs is a huge injustice. Songs are like breath of fresh air that lift your mood when you are gloomy, act like a healing touch when you are missing that special someone, become your friend when you are lonely and express your state of mind perfectly.

My taste of music is very limited. I have mostly restricted myself to A R Rahman, Rabindranath and other Indian genres when it comes to my playlist. To select a few songs, from a span of over hundreds of thousands makes me shiver in anxiety!

The possible solution to this dilemma would be to select 5 songs that are suitable for the occasion that is today – the 68th Independence Day of India. Here are 5 songs that are a must in your playlist on this special occasion:
