No beginning, no end

My love does not have a beginning

Nor does it have an end.

I was born in this world

With a diamond armour of love, which was different.

I did not come here with a name,

Three or four aliases is what I brought

To this world.

I have romanced with fire,

Scarred as I was from light.

Assimilated in the whirlpool of darkness

I learned to recognise people.

I have earned praises aplenty,

Contempt as well in many eyes

Yet, I have loved love.

For I am fearless.

My love has no beginning, no end.

(Today is the birth anniversary of Sunil Gangopadhyay. Although, I never concurred with his political views, I was an admirer of his poems and his other literary works.

To mark the poet’s birthday, I have loosely translated one of his poems “Janmo hoy na, mrtiyu hoyna“. Hope you liked it).

P.S. I am taking my Alexa rank to the next level with Blogchatter. This is my fourth post.

  19. As lovely as the poem is, your words really are strong. In today’s world, people outright hate everything about those who don’t share their same ideologies. To be able to differentiate the two is a sign of a strong and just mind.
